Original Songs by the Bees - How Did They Do It?
The bees had some help from the bee team. We made MIDI files from the bee flight data. Beehive RAP is the sound derived from counts of the number of bees coming and going from a single hive. Hivedemonium is the music produced by the flights of 7 hives of varying population size. Smoothy is a mathematical derivation (i.e., smoothed data) of Hivedemonium. Let's Get Matt are the sounds produced by 7 colonies and their responses as Matt opened each of the 7 hives to inspect them. You can hear when he goes from one hive to another.
